The Face Of Trouble

One of those moments when the house was too quiet . . . I thought; "Where's littlest girl, and what is she getting into now?!" Sure enough, she was in my bathroom, going through the make-up drawer again. I must tell you it's not the first time.

"Pretty!" says she.

Looks like she's ready for a game of football! She took an eyeshadow pencil and used it on her cheeks.

How could I get angry at this face?

Luckily I don't really use those lipstick shades anymore.
I guess "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"!

Within a matter of minutes, she just barely took all the baby wipes out of the box. She also got a water bottle sprayer, and sprayed water all over the bathroom. She was trying to get her hair wet to comb it. What's next?...Don't let that sweet innocent face fool you . . . she's trouble I tell ya!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like . . .

With the tree finally up, time to bring out some of the Christmas cheer.

I made these a couple of Christmases ago, along with the table runners from fabric I had left-over from the quilt.

My brother-in-law gave me this pattern for Christmas a few years ago. It took me nearly two months to finish. All the frames were made custom made by him, and framed by me.

Some left-over 2x4s hubby cut out for me, made over with the good old paint brush.

Some 3-D Trees I designed and hubby cut out for me.

Another cute pattern. I borrowed this one from my sister-in-law.(This one's obviously not as time consuming.)

Glass jars hubby gave me for Valentine's Day, ready for the season.

Some thrifted dishes

Yet another cross-stitch!

Most important of all . . .

The Reason for the Season.

Merry Christmas!

Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Chritmas Tree!

My oldest daughter had the first Christmas dance performance at the Festival of Trees on Friday. After her performance we went around and looked at the decorated trees. What variety! Definitely something for everyone.

I found mine!

We hadn't put up our Christmas tree yet.
The kids kept asking "When  are we putting up the tree?' "When can we decorate the tree?" So, this weekend we bought ourselves a pre-lit tree. Yay! No more putting on the lights for me! (I'm still debating whether to put up our old one as well). The kids had fun hanging all the ornaments. We then had some hot chocolate and homemade cinnamon rolls. Yum! No raisins at our house though, chocolate chips instead! Yup.

As I say farewell to fall this year, I reluctantly welcome winter.

I'm not ready for the white stuff.

California Here We Come!

Being by the ocean brings such wonderful childhood memories. Spending month long summer vacations a couple of blocks away from the beach. Jumping over the dissapearing waves by the shore. Floating along, and sometimes being engulfed by huge waves. Letting your feet sink in the sand, and building sand castles. Collecting so many seashells, that you had to leave most of them behind. I could spend all day watching the tide, and shoreline slowly getting closer and closer.
It wasn't the warmest of days, but our kids could not resist getting wet. We were nearly the only ones there, with the exception of the couple of local joggers fully equiped with warm jackets and hats. They were either thinking "crazy tourists" or that we were conducting some type of child torcher treatment. Maybe the first, because our kids were far from being torchered. They were wet, cold, and loving every minute! (Well, with the exception when our 5 year old tripped and got completely soaked. He quickly recovered though!)

I didn't build sand castles, and only got wet from the knees down, but I did collect a few sea shells, and admired the ocean's sounds, and scenery. I still love it!
